Sweet

For a 72 hours project this game is awesome.
Simple, fun, easy but not too easy. Was a little short but you guys had time restrictions I know.
Kept me busy for a good 20 minutes, didn't get frustrated like most of these strategy item type games, I like it.
5/5 10/10 I rated it based off of the work done in the amount of time, which was a hell of a lot considering what most people slap together in 3 days on NG.
Only thing I'd say to improve which wouldn't have hurt your time is the sensitivity of the "space" popping up on the screen, sometimes I'd stand right infront of the item and it wouldn't pop up, but back up a few ft (inches on screen) and it'd show up.

Other then that great game

Thanks for the review :) I like this type of review, not only highscore also show that really like it :)
Thanks a lot and probably will be a sequel :)
Again Thanks :)

was lolworthy

People are being way to harsh on this. Overall you did a damn good job, the theme was cool, the characters, clean voice acting, and fun game play. Not to mention the part in the school was a nice twist on a NG classic, you through in an intro video, ending video. how someone could have rated this a two compared to a lot of stuff on here is judging it on something other then it's quality or only watched the preloader..
and it was your first attempt at a serious flash, nice job man

After playing it all the way through there were some things you could have worked on.
on the second boss the game play was really bugged, the character wouldn't turn facing the boss sometimes and you have to jump outta it, didn't happen with the 3rd boss
the graphics were done really well in some areas, but then in other important areas you decided to go the easy route. like on the last boss, it looks like you put more work into he bg then the boss itself, and the main character walking through the map was poorly detailed compared to say the end video that looked really clean, it's important to put a lot of detail in the focal points and less in the bg if you wanna take shortcuts

other then being a little rough around the edges, which is expected for a first serious attempt at a flash game, this was a great game.

nice work man

thank you sir. I know i'm not the greatest at graphics. I wanted to detail the python boss fight background more... but the game kept freezing on me when I saved it. The file size is just so massive.. that any kind of changes would take forever..... um as far as glitches.. i wish i knew what they were.. the game doesn't seem glitchy on my computer.

Addictive

I got a save point, medals, and get to be entertained, this game kicks ass
This game is a nice twist on a lot of games I see on here, I've seen this style of game done a lot of different ways, but this is my favorite. I like the way you incorporated the bunny theme all the way through, with carrots and extra bunnies and such.

Nothing I could say to improve really, maybe the art work a little, but I like the feel of it, the difficulty is welcomed (a lot of these games are too easy) and the medals guarantee replayability, keep up the good work man - I'm gonna keep playing =]

side note; the first 2 medals for the moon & mars didn't show up but the jupiter and deep space ones did ? hope that helps

Thanks man! I really appreciate your feedback. Comments like this really keep you motivated to keep creating better and better games!

underrated

but it's for a reason - this game is fucking awesome in my opinion, I voted 5 and added it to my favorites when I seen it come through the portal the other day, BUT there's a number of major flaws, mainly in game play -

- the color of the character matching the bg a lot of the time makes it difficult some times to see if you're landing properly
you could fix it easily by putting a white border around the rider

- the difficulty of the landing needs to be toned down so the player can enjoy it for longer and pull of sick tricks easier

- it'd be nice to see there be more then one life, maybe 3 lives and a couple pick-up lives through out the level - again allow people to enjoy this great game for longer - and you could put a 5 sec delay if you die or some thing to give the tornado a chance to catch up (tornado part is cool)

- adjust the sensitivity on the rolling over of the bike, not enough to make flipping to difficult, but enough to stabilize the rider more then it is in the air

- and last but not least - space out the jumps more so that the player can get more speed in for bigger jumps, it was hard for me to find jumps to do supermans (I did pull off a gnarly superman front flip though) and then when I did half the time I'd hit another bump on the ground and die

I know I said a lot, but they all seem like small tweaks that could make this game amazing, I like the "twilight" dark style of it, the idea of the tornado chasing (which actually would be more suited if you had a couple lives) and racing for your life - all of it made this a cool idea, but the flaws brought it down majorly
I hope you decide to fix this up and resubmit it, if you need some one to help test out the controls/game play for a future version, feel free to pm me

other then that - awesome game - keep up the good work and keep submitting

cool

This is definitely one of the better point and click games I've played, I thought it'd get irritating with the constant gray scale, but nope, overall the graphics/drawings are nicely done, and I liked the game play compared to most point and clicks, where as most it's dependant on finding that one little 2 pixel item masked behind a couple items, everything was easy to find but puzzling instead which I appreciated (since they're normally frustrating)
Oh and thanks for not doing a point and click game allllll in pixel art ;D haha

One thing - there's a small glitch that makes it easy to cheat in this game, you should fix it before more people find it -
if you right click, then click away from the drop down box, you'll get a normal cursor, which will change to the pointing finger when you go over items - small script should clear that up

keep up the good work man

I'm glad

you decided to add medals to this, had you not, I probably would not have played it again...and oh what a shame that would have been ='[ lol
This really brought me back, I remember playing this game when I was 12...12! long before I even had a NG account, all the kids in my school grade 6-8 would go to the library daily either at lunch or right after school (of coarse this was prior to EVERY ONE having a PC) every one going just to check out newgrounds and the latest video or games, dozens and dozens of kids, it'd be a pain to get a computer!
Now almost 10 years later since first playing, I still love this game just as much, actually I think a little more because of nostalgia - also I think I remember the game play on the bosses being choppier and I dont think it was a semi ? cud be wrong so the work you did on converting it from flash 3 must have worked great.
I would critique this game but it seems pointless when this game brought so much joy and pre-teen anger out of me when I was a kid.
Instead I hope telling you how much I have enjoyed this game over the last decade will do.
Thank you Tom of yesteryear for making this game, and thank you Tom of today for recoding it
PLIX MAEK MOOR
wait...

You prove

That simple and basic doesn't mean bad, or not unworthy of playing
This game is simple, even the graphics, but the way you put it altogether made it worth 10 and made it easy to play for hours, the sounds you used, the game play, the idea of shooting dead cats at cats lol it all comes together and makes a great game
My only complaint is you should have show in the tutorial how exactlyy to shoot the slingshot, I think the reason your getting reviews with people complaining about the difficulty is because people are making the mistake of thinking they have to pull the sling shot back(and now that I've checked back just now, the tut does say pull it back) once I realized I could just click and it'd shoot I found this game awesome and fun to play, I even ended up beating it using only rocks, as a testament to those saying its too hard

All and all this game was kick ass, I would've liked to see it last a little longer
If you make another lets throw puppies! lol
p.s the ending made me lol

Chibi awesomeness

You sir, missed your calling in creating snes games =p
Before I even bothered to read the author comments (was busy playing this awesome game) I knew it was zelda themed and it continued with it all the way through =] which means to us old school gamers, this was a success.
You nailed your objective and created an addictive, fun, and easily replayable game in the process. The way you decided to entice people into replaying with the speed option and beating the game again for the no axe/spells medal (to the people I seen review say its impossible...not even close) was a great idea, it worked on me anyways (5th highest time this month =)
I'd make the obvious comment of PLIX MAEK MORE but I noticed you said this was a side project that took almost 2 years, but hopefully with the success of this one(and the revenue you mustve made lol) will convince you to PLIX MAEK MORE

and of coarse a review wouldn't be complete with out saying some thing constructive.
If you do decide to make another, you should detail the main character a lot, not that there was any thing wrong with it, but the main character is the one thing you're going to be looking at most, I know it's suiting with the style of the flash, and your objective. characters have the ability to pull people in and create that stay power though, some thing you did awesomely with your choice in voice actress =p but the character seems lifeless aside from motion. Seems like some thing that could've made this already great game pop just a little more, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for keeping me entertain for I don't even how many hours now
And I hope your daughter enjoyed the game as much as NG did =]

okay

I tested the asdw all work fine - clicking the stone makes one block disappear at a time
all works

I look forward to seeing this game when its complete, I liked the pixel art in it, and for the future, don't post tests on newgrounds, its kinda frowned apon

Gluck with it, ill be watching for the finished thing

SlaxerNG responds:

I need people to see and fix the thing so i can make things better
